Calligraphy is a fun-cursive style of handwriting that many of my friends have picked up. If we're going to be technical, by definition it is decorative handwriting! I love incorporating it into my school notes, gifts, and more, so I hope you learn to too!


Here is a tutorial for those wanting to start learning or practicing calligraphy. The great thing about it is that everyone develops and learns their own style. For me, here is how I write the alphabet.

TIP: Remember to shade the down strokes of each letter, but not the up strokes.


WHAT ARE DOWN STROKES?


Down strokes correspond to the movement of your pencil. When you are drawing a letter look at the way your pencil moves. If you are going up with your pencil that is an...

UP stroke! And if you are going down with your pencil that is a... DOWN stroke. Here is an example.
