Hey yall! Living in Texas, I feel as though many people think that they might know what it's like, but they sometimes don't... so I am here to confirm and deny the stereotypes of being and living in Texas.

IT'S JUST A BUNCH OF FARMS & OPEN LAND

While yes, people do own farms (in fact my grandparents live on a ranch) Texas's 9th Biggest City is bigger than the 2nd Biggest City in New York. So no, we aren't just a bunch of hillbillies with a pitchfork, but civilized people. Haha!

THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS IS THE TEXAS-OU RIVALRY

This is so true! Although Georgia-Florida and Michigan-Ohio State are rivalries, they are irrelevant in TX! The University of Texas vs. The University of Oklahoma is THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS! Losing to them in the Big 12 Championship is still a sore subject for most Texans. Hook Em!

FOOTBALL IS ALL WE THINK ABOUT

We Texans do love our football! Whether it is high school, college, or professional, fans come far and wide to cheer on their teams. However, we love our other sports too including baseball, basketball, and soccer.

WE LOVE MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY

Matthew actually grew up in my town and spoke at graduation this year, so we definitely love him here! I don't think, however, people who don't live in East Texas or Austin really think much of him except for his movies.

Alright, Alright, Alright,

I'm almost done. This is the one I hear the most...

WE RIDE HORSES TO SCHOOL

No! No! No! Okay, have I seen people riding horses? Of course! I saw someone riding a horse on the side of the road the other day. BUT... Do I or my friends ride horses to school? No! It's not common. We love our cowboy hats and boots, but we don't usually ride horses... Haha!

Anyways, hopefully y'all enjoyed this! I know there's a lot more, but here were just a few I could think of. Talk to y'all later! <3
